Textiles of India: Saris


Shanti was born in Kerala, South India and grew up in Delhi North India & in Nepal. She graduated from college with a degree in Literature and Psychology. She likes the arts, painting, reading, music, singing, dancing & she loves shopping for textiles and jewelry. She is involved in activities with students at Messiah College where her husband, Bernardo, is the Special Assistant to the President & Provost for Diversity Affairs, and is currently employed part-time as an interpreter for Hindi & Nepali. She is the mother of 3 and grandmother to 2 lovely boys.

Create a miniature bird's nest enhanced with beading, easily executed with bullion knots and sitting in a vintage tin.

Beading - $12       Earrings
Make a pretty pair of earrings using super duo and seed beads.

Learn the basics of rug braiding.
